Wyegate Cottage – coming soon! Join us on our journey as we renovate an early 1900’s cottage into our first holiday rental. Originally, Wyegate Cottage was the servant’s quarters for a larger house next door (which has since been demolished). We will be restoring a lot of the original features, for example, there are two fireplaces and beautiful brickwork waiting to be uncovered.
Location
Wyegate Cottage is situated in Symonds Yat West, a well-known village on the River Wye. Designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village, a very popular holiday destination, has an extensive range of shops, services, and riverside inns.
Communications are excellent with the A40 providing fast access north to the M5 and the Midlands, and similarly to the south to the M4, Bristol and South Wales. However, the cottage enjoys a peaceful and tranquil location.
There are a host of recreational opportunities close by including water activities on the River Wye, and glorious walks through the neighbouring Forest of Dean.
Things to Do
The property is in a desirable position high above the River Wye. Therefore you can watch the canoes and boats gently make their way down the river towards Symonds Yat East and beyond.
Enjoy glorious sunrises as the sun makes its way across the Wye Valley. After that, have a go at some canoeing down at Symonds Yat East. We highly recommend Wyedean Canoe Hire.
Keep an eye out for the local family of Deer, who can often be seen peacefully grazing on the hills around Wyegate Cottage.
